Hi! My name is Sofia Torres Hidrobo. I was born in Quito, Ecuador and I am an International Business & Marketing student at the University of Tampa currently completing my last semester. I was raised by a hard-working family that ranges from business owners to doctors, architects, engineers, and artists. My grandfather started his own automobile dealerships at a young age. He eventually grew to have several businesses in the financial and engineering sectors and touched everyone’s lives in a positive way. His stories have made me grow an interest in the business field as well as appreciate its different branches.

My family is spread all over the world and ever since I was a child, I have been introduced to different cultures and perspectives. Having an international background has given me the ability to adapt easily to different cultures as well as learn new languages and challenge myself into growing my knowledge and skills in different areas.

I currently speak four languages including fluent Spanish and English as well as elementary French and German. In my spare time, I love to paint, explore different places, practice different sports, especially water sports and horseback riding, and traveling. I am a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) at the University of Tampa as well as UT Entrepreneurs. I am currently working at a marketing agency in Quito, Ecuador called Noventa y Siete.
